Meet our BASIC Scholars
|
START & STAY-IN-SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
BASIC Start-School Scholarships are awarded to:
- BSHS High school seniors planning to attend full-time
- First time applicants of adults for college, career and vocational studies
- First time applicants must reside or work in the geographic area of the Borrego Springs Unified School District or be an alumnus of the Borrego Springs Unified School District.
BASIC Stay-In-School Scholarships are awarded to:
- Continuing college students
- Continuing adults for college, career and vocational studies
Past scholarship recipients who have continuing educational needs are encouraged to reapply annually.

BASIC is both proud and humbled to be awarding several named scholarships, many of which are memorial; they have been sponsored by, or honor, long time Borregans, all of whom share a commitment to the value of higher education.

Jerry R. Goldsmith Memorial Scholarships For students pursuing careers in healthcare or science, or in special need Dr. Edith A. Schmitt Memorial Scholarship For a student planning to pursue a career in the healthcare/medical field Bill Wright Memorial Scholarship For students pursuing careers in business & innovation. Bill Wright was a BASIC founder, and at his death he remained a champion of BASIC and especially of the expanded C2G strategy and programs.
