BASIC scholarships are designed to help Borrego Springs students get into—and stay in—college. Start exploring and start the application process with the click of a button.

Criteria are based on:
  • Economic need
  • Likelihood for academic or vocational success
  • Community service
  • Personal essays demonstrating maturity

​​​START & STAY-IN-SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
​

APPLY HERE​

Applicants must be a current or former Borrego Springs High School alumnus or have lived or worked for at least one year within the area of the Borrego Springs Unified School District.
Application links will open on the advertised open date!
Start-School Scholarships are awarded to:
  • BSHS High school seniors planning to attend full-time
  • First time applicants of adults for college, career and vocational studies

​​​Seniors applying for a BASIC scholarship are required to participate as a volunteer in some BASIC program or activity.

Stay-In-School Scholarships are awarded to:
  • Continuing college students
  • Continuing adults for college, career and vocational studies

Past scholarship recipients who have continuing educational needs ​are encouraged to reapply annually.

​BASIC is both proud and humbled to be awarding several named scholarships, many of which are memorial; they have been sponsored by, or honor, long time Borregans, all of whom share a commitment to the value of higher education.

​For a student pursuing a career in automotive technology​

Williamson Memorial Scholarship 
​Our oldest memorial scholarship, for scholars making the transition from a community college to a 4-year school

Don Nicholas Memorial Scholarship

For a student planning a career as an educator

For students pursuing studies in science, mathematics or engineering

​For students pursuing careers in business & innovation. Bill Wright was a BASIC founder, and at his death he remained a champion of BASIC and especially of the expanded C2G strategy and programs
