BASIC congratulates its scholars in Borrego Sun article!
In the summer of 2020, 42 Borregans received $72,500 in scholarship awards
​to attend vocational schools, community colleges, 4-year colleges, universities, and graduate schools.

This brings the total amount awarded to deserving Borregans
to over 
$538,000 since the program's inception!

The San Diego Literacy Council (of which BASIC is a member) does a weekly hour radio program on wsradio.com. 
Jose Cruz, the Council Executive (who comes to BASIC's Golf Tournament) interviewed Joann Stang,
​a BASIC board member, about Learning Academy and BASIC.
